Job Title: Production Associate

Job Summary:
Is responsible for following basic direction on the transplant line of production as plants are taken from the seedling plugs and placed in their final containers for growth and maturity. Must be able to respond in the correct manner to direction given and show care and concern for condition of the plants.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Works on production line on an assigned task or duty, which must be accomplished correctly in a predetermined length of time.
• Transplants seedling to finished containers.
• Moves transplants to assigned position in the Nursery.
• Waters newly transplanted product.
• Labels flats or fills auto labeler.
• Unloads and stages various materials needed in the transplant process.
• Operates electric cart to move product.

Job Title: Mover

Job Summary:
Is responsible for aiding, assisting and following the direction of the Assistant Grower in the development stages of the plants. Must be able to communicate with the Assistant grower and follow specific detailed instruction on the handling of the plants.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Moves plants to the assigned areas during various stages of their growth.
• Waters Plants as directed and will be responsible for watering an assigned area.
• May be required to operate transplanting equipment.
• May be required to operate automatic watering systems.

Commercial Truck Driver's Needed (morgan hill)

Seasonal full time and part time nursery Commercial Truck Driver
Can be flexible with work schedules and hours! Season is January through May or June!

Job Summary:
The primary responsibility of the Truck Driver is to deliver the assigned product to the Nursery's clients in a safe efficient manner. Customer service and safety are essential to performing the job requirements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• To drive the company's vehicle in a safe and courteous manner to and from the client's location.
• Process invoices in a protective, careful manner, making corrections accurately as required.
• Communicate frequently with the Nursery's Dispatch Supervisor/Sales Representative as to the needs and wishes of the client/KNI.
• Provide friendly prompt deliveries in a customer-pleasing manner while never entering into confrontation with the customer.
• Keep all log books (DOT) up to date in an accurate timely manner so as to comply with Department of Transportation requirements. Training on this subject will be provided before driver is certified to drive.
• Complete the Delivery Log as required for the office as to the length of time at each account and all other information needed.
• Inspect vehicle daily for damage or needed repairs and turn in paperwork noted accordingly. Work closely with the Dispatch Supervisor & the Head Mechanic on all repairs and safety issues.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
None

Qualifications:
Must have experience driving the size and kind of trucks used by Kawahara Nursery. Must be certified to drive such vehicles with correct license. Must be able to understand and communicate in English.

Additional Certification or Licenses:
Class A, B, or C; up-to-date California License with a good driving record.

Physical Demands:
Must be in good physical shape, able to work 60 hours a week in the peak season and be able to report to work as early as two a.m. Drivers will drive for four hours at a time, up to 300 miles a day.. Drivers must be able to transport/move up to 60 lbs. and perform vigorous physical activity for sustained periods of time. Lifting, bending, stretching, stooping are all part of the loading and off-loading process.

Work Environment:
Must be absolutely free from drugs or alcohol; any issues to the contrary will result in immediate termination.
